Black/African American teenager Erion Turner, 16, was shot shortly after midnight on June 29, 2025, in Champaign, Illinois, and died a short time later at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. The Champaign County coroner identified Erion Turner, age 16, as the victim, and records note he was pronounced dead at 12:38 a.m. on June 29.
