On April 18, 1973, Claire Patricia Jakubowski, a 5-year-old girl of unspecified ethnicity from Houston, Texas, tragically lost her life. She was riding her bicycle in her driveway when Larry Delon Casey, a man on probation for burglary, went on a shooting spree. Casey first shot and killed 86-year-old Beulah Davis before targeting Claire. He then fatally shot 10-year-old Jana Whatley and wounded Lyn Tucker and Karen Kurtz, both 10, as they walked home from Red Elementary School.
