On the night of July 5, 2025, Moises Juarez, 47, a man from Chicago, was walking in Little Village near 27th Street and South Central Park Avenue when a black Nissan circled the block several times and pulled alongside. From the driver's seat, the man inside called out “Yo,” then fired, striking Moises Juarez, 47, in the abdomen. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died.
