Quentin D. Payton, aged 28, was tragically killed in a shooting on March 12, 2017, in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. Payton was one of two men who lost their lives in the incident, with 22-year-old Chaz Johnson also killed, and a third person wounded. The shooting occurred in the afternoon, and witnesses reported hearing several rounds of gunfire.
