Moncreef Miller, a 26-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on December 7, 2017, in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred at approximately 2:42 p.m. while Miller was standing outside in the 1000 block of North Long Avenue. A vehicle approached, and an individual exited the vehicle, firing multiple shots at Miller.
He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Miller's death was a significant blow to his family, especially considering the recent loss of his younger brother, Quinton Flowers, who was also a victim of gun violence earlier that year. Quinton, an aspiring musician, was shot and killed just a few blocks away from where Miller was later gunned down.
