James Carson Jr., a 44-year-old African American man, was tragically shot and killed on November 8, 2021, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 9:10 a.m. at Midtown Market and Liquor, located at 3855 W. Division St. in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. Surveillance footage revealed that Carson was inside the store, grabbing a bottle, when a person in a blue hooded sweatshirt pulled out a handgun and shot him in the chest.
