Jayvinvontae Keion-Ray Carter, a 3-year-old Black/African American boy from Evansville, Indiana, died on June 7, 2025, after finding a loaded handgun hidden under couch cushions in a Florence Street apartment and shooting himself. Paramedics rushed Jayvinvontae Keion-Ray Carter to Deaconess Midtown Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
