In the early morning hours of June 21, 2020, a Sunday, the life of 22-year-old Javion Bell was tragically cut short in a drive-by shooting in his hometown of Evansville, Indiana. Bell, a Black male, was with friends on East Virginia Street when the incident occurred. At approximately 3:15 a.m., as he and his companions were exiting a vehicle, another car approached and its occupants opened fire. Bell was struck by a single gunshot to the torso.
