In the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the life of Darries Mitchell, a 33-year-old Black/African American male from Wichita, Kansas, was tragically cut short. The stillness of the early morning was broken at 3:13 a.m. when police were dispatched to a Valero gas and convenience store at 2011 E. 21st Street.
