On the night of July 18, 2025, Demarion Ligon, age 22, Black male, stood outside on the 2800 block of West Arthington Street in Chicago's East Garfield Park when a person walking nearby opened fire. The bullets struck Demarion Ligon, age 22, male, in the torso. He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where Demarion Ligon, age 22, male, was pronounced dead, his final moments unfolding just past 10 p.m. on a summer Friday that turned suddenly quiet after the shots.
