In a desert area near Lake Mead Boulevard in Las Vegas, the skeletal remains of 14-year-old Caucasian male Michael Rainey were discovered on November 2, 1996. For nearly three years, the identity of the young man remained a mystery, a heartbreaking John Doe case for investigators. It wasn't until 1999 that a breakthrough came. Through the use of dental records, the remains were positively identified as Michael, a boy who had been missing since August 20, 1996.
