On March 21, 1998, John Edward Harris, a 55-year-old cab driver for Vegas-Western Cab Co., was found shot to death inside his taxi in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Las Vegas. Harris had not reported back to his dispatcher at the end of his shift, prompting a search for him. His cab was discovered around 9 a.m. by a fellow driver who alerted the authorities.
