On July 2, 2025, three-year-old Jianni Jones was found inside a home on Hawthorne Way in East Point, just southwest of Atlanta, with a single gunshot wound and a firearm lying nearby. Officers rushed him to Grady Memorial Hospital, where the three-year-old boy later died. The Fulton County Medical Examiner identified the child as Jianni Jones as detectives with East Point’s Criminal Investigations Division took over the case.
