In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Midtown Atlanta, a burst of gunfire shattered the city's calm, leaving two young men dead. One of the victims was Memphis Dylan Waddell, a 21-year-old male from Snellville, Georgia. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on November 20, 2022, near a Dunkin' shop on Spring Street. When Atlanta police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Waddell and another man, 23-year-old Shawn Parker of Lithonia, with multiple gunshot wounds.
Both Waddell
and Parker were tragically pronounced dead at the scene, their lives cut short in a senseless act of violence. The investigation into the double homicide led police to a suspect, Phillip Mills. He was arrested shortly after the shooting and taken into custody.
Following his arrest, Phillip Mills was transported to the Fulton County jail. He is facing serious charges for his alleged role in the deaths of the two men. The charges brought against him include two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault. According to a GoFundMe campaign started by Shawn Parker's family, he was killed by someone he considered a friend.
