In the early moments of a Monday morning in Atlanta, Georgia, the air on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive was shattered by a hail of gunfire. It was shortly after midnight on July 21, 2025, when 28-year-old Quentavius Monday, a Black / African American male, was driving his black Chevrolet Corvette. In a sudden and violent attack, multiple shooters unleashed a barrage of bullets at his vehicle.
Struck by the gunfire, Monday was mortally wounded behind the wheel.
His car, now riddled with bullet holes, surged forward uncontrollably. The Corvette veered off the road and crashed into a bus shelter. The force of the impact was devastating, and tragically, a 40-year-old woman named Shunta Robbins, who was near the bus stop, was struck and killed. When Atlanta police officers arrived at the chaotic scene near the Food Mart ZTS, they discovered Monday deceased inside his vehicle.
The immediate aftermath of the shooting and crash left a scene of carnage. Investigators found numerous shell casings of different calibers and multiple weapons, pointing to the likelihood of several assailants. A red Ford Fusion, also covered in bullet holes, was found at the scene and appeared to be part of the investigation. Security camera footage from a nearby food mart captured the horrifying moments, showing the Fusion being hit by bullets and Monday's Corvette speeding down the street before crashing.
In the days that followed, the investigation into the violent deaths of Quentavius Monday and Shunta Robbins continued.
