In the early morning hours of December 1, 2020, the life of Marcus Antwonne Edwards Jr., a 26-year-old African American male, was tragically cut short in Atlanta, Georgia. The incident unfolded at the Marketplace Apartments located on Fairburn Road, where Edwards was discovered with a gunshot wound to his chest. His death marked the first of three separate shootings that occurred in southwest Atlanta on the same day, though investigators have stated they do not believe the events were related.
