On July 6, 2025, Alvin Lashawn Williams, age 32, a Black man from Glennville, Georgia, was found with a gunshot wound on Martin Luther King Drive between Boyd Street and Green Street just after midnight. Officers with the Glennville Police Department responded, and Alvin Lashawn Williams, age 32, was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Two additional people were also found with gunshot wounds and transported for treatment.
