In the warm summer night of Glennville, Georgia, the life of 32-year-old Black / African American man, Alvin Lashawn Williams, was tragically cut short. On Sunday, July 6, 2025, at approximately 12:00 a.m., the Glennville Police Department received reports of a shooting and was dispatched to an area on MLK Drive, situated between Boyd Street and Green Street.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Williams suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were rendered at the scene, and Williams was quickly transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Alvin Lashawn Williams succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. In the same incident, two other individuals were also found to have sustained gunshot wounds. They were likewise taken to local hospitals to receive medical attention for their injuries.
