Matthew Rangle, a 26-year-old man identified as white/Caucasian, was standing in an alley in Chicago’s Little Village just after midnight on Sunday, August 24, 2025, when gunfire broke the silence. In the 3000 block of South Hamlin Avenue at about 12:12 a.m., someone opened fire, striking Matthew Rangle in the eye. He was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where doctors fought to save him.
