On the evening of September 30, 2025, Dylan Ritter, 28, a man from Goshen, Indiana, suffered an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a residence on the 300 block of Crescent Street. Police were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. and found Dylan Ritter, 28, injured; he was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, where he was later pronounced dead. Reports from local outlets characterized the shooting as accidental based on the initial investigation at the scene.
