Patrolman Thomas Edward Goodwin, aged 31, tragically lost his life on December 11, 1998, in Goshen, Indiana. He was a dedicated officer with the Goshen Police Department and a U.S. Army veteran. On that fateful day, Patrolman Goodwin responded to a shooting call at the Brookside Manor Mobile Home Park. While securing the area as a crime scene, the suspect suddenly appeared and opened fire, striking Goodwin in the head. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
