Andres Orellana, 39, a Salvadoran man from Salinas, was shot and killed on the evening of July 26, 2025. Around 7 p.m., a ShotSpotter activation drew officers to the area near Cesar Chavez Park, where they found Andres Orellana, 39, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Nearly two weeks later, police publicly identified the victim as Andres Orellana, 39, and appealed for information from anyone who might have witnessed the daylight attack.
