In the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the sound of gunshots shattered the quiet on the 1600 block of 14th Street, Northwest in Washington, D.C. At approximately 3:59 a.m., Metropolitan Police Department officers from the Third District were dispatched to the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man lying unconscious and not breathing in the street, having sustained a gunshot wound to his chest.
