In the late spring of 2025, the life of 37-year-old Jessica Elaine Money, a female resident of Montgomery, Alabama, was tragically cut short. On the evening of Sunday, May 18th, Money was violently attacked on Zenia Street, located off Wears Ferry Road in the northern part of the city. She sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her head, arm, and leg.
First responders rushed to the scene and transported her to a local hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
For five days, Jessica Money fought for her life, but the severity of her injuries proved to be overwhelming. She succumbed to her wounds on Friday, May 23, 2025.
The Montgomery Police Department quickly launched an investigation into the shooting. A significant breakthrough in the case came from a nearby home's security system, which captured footage that helped investigators identify the suspect's vehicle. This crucial piece of evidence led them to 31-year-old Daniel Vincent of Selma. Vincent was apprehended approximately two and a half miles from the scene of the crime.
Initially, Daniel Vincent was charged with attempted murder. However, following Jessica Money's death, the charges against him were upgraded to capital murder. He was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
