On the morning of March 11, 2019, the quiet of a Montgomery, Alabama neighborhood was broken when police and fire medics responded to a call in the 2800 block of Fairwest Street. There, near Carver Elementary School, they discovered the body of 31-year-old Laquanda Parker, a Black female resident of Montgomery.
