In the early evening of August 8, 2025, 31-year-old Taevon Jamir Arnold, a male from Kimberly, Alabama, was shot during a burst of gunfire near 14th Street North and 1st Avenue North in downtown Birmingham. Witnesses and surveillance video captured a confrontation that escalated just before 6 p.m.; responding officers and medics rushed Taevon Jamir Arnold to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that night.
