In the summer of 2008, a domestic argument tragically escalated into a fatal incident for a 29-year-old Hispanic female from Las Vegas, Nevada. On the night of July 1, 2008, Sherryl Sacueza was heard arguing with her husband, Jesús Roberto Munguía. Following the argument, she lay in bed with her daughter, urging the young girl to stay awake. However, the child eventually fell asleep.
When the daughter awoke, her mother was gone. Police believe Munguía forced Sacueza into her own vehicle and drove away. The following day, around noon, Sherryl's sister discovered her body in the back seat of her vehicle, which was parked in the driveway of her home.
The last conversation Sacueza had with her mother, Noema Gonzalez, was on the day she was killed. She had expressed her desire to separate from her husband. Gonzalez had warned her daughter not to speak with him alone, fearing he would harm her.
In the aftermath of the discovery, an investigation identified Jesús Roberto Munguía as the primary suspect in the death of his wife. However, Munguía had fled and has remained a fugitive ever since. His case gained significant attention, and in November 2017, he was added to the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted Fugitives" list. Despite the passage of time, law enforcement officials have affirmed their commitment to bringing him to justice. Sacueza's family continues to cope with their loss, expressing the ongoing pain of knowing her killer has not been apprehended.
