In the cold of a Las Vegas December night, the life of Jai Ray, a 26-year-old African-American man, was tragically cut short. On the evening of December 18, 2008, in the courtyard of the Desert Park Apartments located at 100 S. Martin Luther King Boulevard, the sound of gunshots shattered the night's quiet. When police arrived around 10 p.m., they found Jai Ray with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
