On June 1, 2004, the body of Hannah Finnerty, a 22-year-old White female from Syracuse, New York, was discovered in a trash bin outside an apartment building on West Onondaga Street. She had suffered multiple stab wounds and was later confirmed to be five months pregnant at the time of her death. Hannah had been living in the area and was known to frequent the building where her body was found. Her murder shocked the local community and prompted an immediate investigation by Syracuse police.
