On a tragic night in Syracuse, New York, the life of 29-year-old Shabriah Gainey was cut short. On September 15, 2021, Gainey, a Black female, and a man named Julian Mansaw, 33, were inside an apartment on Croly Street when a gunman opened fire, unleashing a hail of bullets. Gainey was struck five times, and Mansaw was hit ten times. While Mansaw was pronounced dead at the scene, Gainey was rushed to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
