On December 31, 1977, Laura Mills, a 65-year-old white female from Fulton County, Pennsylvania, was murdered alongside her husband, Guy Mills, also 65 years old. The couple was found dead in their ransacked home in Breezewood, Bedford County, early on the morning of January 1, 1978. Both victims had been shot, and the scene suggested a violent home invasion and robbery. The brutality of the crime shocked the local community and left investigators with few immediate leads.
