A young woman’s life was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting that occurred on a late Friday night in Nashville. Kayla Phillips-Coker, a 26-year-old resident of Nashville, was killed in the incident which took place in the 100 block of Cumberland Avenue.

On the evening of her death, Phillips-Coker had been visiting with acquaintances at a residence on Cumberland Avenue. She reportedly left the house to walk to a nearby convenience store. It was during her walk back to the residence ...
