On April 10, 1987, 12-year-old white female Kathy Annette Allen was abducted from her family’s home in Ottumwa, Iowa, and later found murdered in Missouri. Kathy, a special education student known for her enthusiasm and kindness, had been preparing to participate in the Special Olympics the following day.
