On May 1, 1993, Kimberly Thompson Wright, a 34-year-old female dispatcher for the Flint Police Department, was found dead in the basement of her Fenton Township home from a single gunshot wound to the chest. Her estranged husband, former Michigan State Trooper Douglas Wright, called 911 to report the death, claiming it was a suicide.
