Gladys Ross Bradley, a 27-year-old African American woman, was a post office clerk residing at the Hamlet Apartments in Alexandria, Virginia. On an April day in 1977, she became the third known victim of Montie Ralph Rissell, a then-18-year-old serial killer who lived in the same apartment complex. Rissell had already committed multiple violent crimes, and his pattern of targeting women in his vicinity culminated in the brutal murder of Gladys Ross Bradley.
