Tonya Lea Lewis, a 12-year-old Caucasian female, was last seen on June 13, 1980, in Nevada, Missouri. She lived in a housing project with her mother, Shirley Lewis. On the day of her disappearance, Tonya had spent time at the municipal swimming pool with friends and Martin Priest, a 22-year-old Caucasian male, who was employed as a painter at the housing project. Priest had interacted with Tonya earlier that day, playing basketball with her and later joining a group for a game of "Indian Ball."
