On the night of January 13, 2025, a domestic dispute call led Chesterfield County Police to a residence on Matoaca Road, where they discovered a grim scene. Inside, 59-year-old Tamara L. Recchia, a female from Petersburg, was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. A second adult female was also discovered at the scene with significant injuries.
