In the late afternoon of January 26, 2025, the life of 26-year-old Shuntrel La-Marcus McNear, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Franklin, Virginia. Around 3:39 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the air at the intersection of Laurel Street and South Street. When Franklin Police officers arrived at the scene, they found McNear suffering from gunshot wounds.
