In March 2025, the Hampton community was jolted by the disappearance of 42-year-old Henry Larvell Jordan Jr., a local man who was last seen walking in the 2400 block of West Weaver Road in the early morning hours of March 11th. Concern for his well-being grew, and he was reported missing. The search for Henry came to a grim end on the afternoon of March 12th when police, responding to a 'man-down complaint,' discovered his body behind a residence in the same area where he was last seen.
Initially, the circumstances surrounding Jordan's death were unclear. However, as the investigation progressed, detectives uncovered evidence that pointed to a violent end. The case was officially reclassified as a homicide, and the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound. This revelation intensified the investigation as Hampton police worked to piece together the events that led to Jordan's murder.
The investigation led to two suspects. In April, police announced they were searching for 57-year-old Don Mann in connection with the case. By June, both Mann and a second suspect, 31-year-old Davon Lewis, were in custody. Lewis was charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a felon, and shooting into an occupied dwelling. Mann faced charges of illegally disposing of/concealing a dead body and tampering with evidence, for his alleged role in the aftermath of the killing.
