On a Saturday afternoon in Hampton, Virginia, a dispute turned deadly, claiming the life of 30-year-old Jatavus Malik Dewberry. The Black/African American man was fatally shot on June 14, 2025, following a physical altercation in the 900 block of North King Street. The incident unfolded outside the King Food Mart, a neighborhood convenience store.
