In the early hours of April 15, 2025, the life of 36-year-old Sofeni Heimuli, a male from Salt Lake City, Utah, was cut short by gunfire inside the Comfort Inn Downtown. The incident, which also resulted in the death of 40-year-old Phillip Kioa, was the culmination of a dispute that began over payment for sex work.
