In a quiet neighborhood in Antioch, Tennessee, a dispute between roommates escalated into a fatal encounter, claiming the life of 33-year-old Johnia Ishan Wilson. The tragic events unfolded on the evening of Wednesday, March 5, 2025, inside the Birchmill Point South home he shared with Davis Owolo Jr.
The disagreement reportedly began when Owolo, 24, accused Wilson of attempting to enter his bedroom while he was not home. Wilson denied the accusation, but the argument intensified.
Despite the presence of witnesses who attempted to de-escalate the volatile situation, their efforts were in vain. The verbal confrontation turned violent when Owolo allegedly brandished a gun and opened fire.
When police arrived at the residence shortly before 9 p.m., they discovered Wilson at the top of a staircase, suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Owolo fled the scene with his girlfriend. However, he surrendered to authorities at the Nashville Criminal Warrants Division the following morning.
Davis Owolo Jr. was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal homicide in connection with the death of his roommate. He was booked into the Downtown Detention Center and is being held without bond as the legal process moves forward. The Antioch community was left shaken by the incident, mourning the sudden and violent loss of one of its residents.
