In the early afternoon of March 10, 2025, a fatal shooting cut short the life of 24-year-old Cameron Kesean Dorsey in Nashville, Tennessee. Dorsey, a male originally from Memphis, was fatally wounded while inside his car at a Mapco gas station located at 5001 Linbar Drive. The incident unfolded around 1:00 PM as Dorsey's vehicle was closely followed into the convenience store's parking lot by a suspect's car.
After Dorsey parked at one of the fuel pumps, the pursuing vehicle, later
identified as a 2021-2024 Volkswagen Jetta, maneuvered around the pump island. The driver of the Jetta then opened their door and fired multiple shots into Dorsey's vehicle before speeding away from the scene. The suspect's car was last seen heading east on Harding Place toward Interstate 24.
Law enforcement officials investigating the homicide have asked for the public's assistance in identifying the gunman and the Volkswagen Jetta involved in the shooting. At the time of the incident, Cameron Dorsey was free on a $45,000 bond following a cocaine-related arrest on December 26, 2024. A small bag containing what appeared to be crack cocaine was discovered inside his vehicle, although it remains unclear if this discovery is connected to the motive behind his murder. As of early April 2025, no arrests had been made in connection with the case.
