On February 1, 2025, 24-year-old Traeon Vontrez Williams, a Black male from Greenville, North Carolina, was tragically shot and killed in what authorities believe was a targeted incident. The shooting occurred at a residence on Colonial Avenue, where police responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered Williams inside the home, suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
