On the evening of March 1, 2025, 28-year-old Sumer Massey was fatally shot in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Lucky Penny Street in the Freedom Division. Massey, a mother, was walking with a female friend when she was shot in the head. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
