In the late afternoon of January 27, 2025, tragedy struck in the Queens Village neighborhood, forever altering the lives of one family. Ikechukwu Onodu, a 20-year-old Black man, was in the lobby of the Cunningham Apartments on 86th Drive when his life was abruptly cut short. At approximately 4:39 PM, the sound of gunfire shattered the ordinary Monday afternoon. Onodu was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.
