On the afternoon of New Year's Day 2025, the life of Terry Wayne Jones Jr., a 35-year-old male, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire in Baton Rouge. The shooting occurred around 3:24 p.m. at the intersection of Longfellow Drive and Hollywood Street. When officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department arrived at the scene, they found Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene, marking the first homicide of the year in the city.
