In the late afternoon of January 2, 2025, a dispute in Zachary, Louisiana, turned deadly, claiming the life of 34-year-old Jeremy Wright. The male victim was at a residence on Plains Port Hudson Road, lending a hand to a relative and her boyfriend, Alex Senegal, as they were moving from one trailer to another. An argument erupted between Wright and the 32-year-old Senegal, escalating to a tragic conclusion.
According to witness statements provided to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's
deputies who responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m., the argument was initiated by Senegal. He accused Wright of stealing his drugs, an allegation that led to the fatal confrontation. In the heat of the moment, Senegal allegedly brandished a firearm and shot Wright multiple times.
Emergency services were called, and Wright was rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his wounds, passing away just three days shy of what would have been his 35th birthday. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office has since issued a warrant for the arrest of Alex Senegal. He is now a wanted man, facing charges of second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Authorities have asked for the public's assistance in locating him, as he remains at large.
