In the late-night hours of March 18, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, the life of 33-year-old Leander Wooden Jr., a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in a double homicide. Responding to the sound of gunfire just after 11 p.m., police discovered Wooden and 72-year-old Jumah Mubarak lying unresponsive with gunshot wounds in the street in the 3400 block of Harrison Street. Emergency services transported both men to a local hospital, but their injuries proved fatal.
