In the late hours of a Wednesday evening, the life of 22-year-old Precious Wilson of Memphis, Tennessee, was tragically cut short in a hotel room in Jackson, Mississippi. On February 26, 2025, officers from the Jackson Police Department were dispatched to the Studio 6 hotel located at 5035 I-55 North around 11:00 p.m. Inside one of the rooms, they discovered Precious Wilson, a female, deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators at the scene found no indication of a forced entry into the hotel room, leading them to believe that Wilson may have willingly interacted with the individual responsible for her death. Surveillance footage from the hotel captured a man with dreadlocks leaving the scene, who was quickly identified as a person of interest in the homicide.
The investigation progressed swiftly, and within a couple of days, authorities had made an arrest. On the evening of March 1, 2025, the Jackson Police Department took 24-year-old Perez Porter into custody. He was subsequently charged with the murder of Precious Wilson. The arrest brought a swift, though somber, development to a case that had begun with a late-night call and the discovery of a young woman's life ended by violence far from her home.
