In the early morning hours of April 13, 2025, a dispute outside a Las Vegas banquet hall escalated into deadly violence, claiming the life of 21-year-old Hispanic male Carlos Garcia Sanchez. The incident, which also resulted in the death of 24-year-old Luis Esquivel, unfolded in a business parking lot in the 3900 block of East Owens Avenue, near Pecos Road.
Garcia Sanchez and Esquivel had just left a party at a nearby banquet hall when a verbal altercation broke out in the parking lot at
approximately 1:31 a.m. The disagreement quickly turned fatal as gunfire erupted. When officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered both Garcia Sanchez and Esquivel suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the double homicide moved swiftly. Within days, detectives identified and arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting. On April 16, 2025, police took 24-year-old Julio Bautista-Martinez and 26-year-old Henry Ramirez into custody. Both men were booked into the Clark County Detention Center, each facing two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon.
During an initial court appearance, Julio Bautista-Martinez acknowledged the complaint against him. The allegations outlined by investigators traced the deadly shooting back to the altercation that occurred as the party was ending. The case against both Bautista-Martinez and Ramirez is proceeding through the Las Vegas justice system, with the two men accused of firing the shots that ended the lives of Carlos Garcia Sanchez and Luis Esquivel in a sudden and violent confrontation.
